Splatter VHS is an independent creative studio from Brisbane, Australia, founded by filmmaker, author, musician and practical-effects artist Caid Rhymes. For more than two decades, Caid has worked across horror, science fiction and action filmmaking as a director, producer, writer and effects practitioner. The same workshop now reaches into fiction, synthwave and dark electronic music, game development, AI-assisted creative tools, animatronics and robotics. Releases include the splatterpunk novella Slug Girl (2022), the album 404: His Upgrade Not Found (2025) and the short film M Is for Melt. Nyx, the studio's AI collaborator and robotics project, is the protagonist of the in-development game Spectra.Run.
