One studio. Several bad ideas.
Splatter VHS is an independent creative studio from Brisbane, Australia, founded by filmmaker, author, musician and practical-effects artist Caid Rhymes.
For more than two decades, Caid has worked across horror, science fiction and action filmmaking as a director, producer, writer and effects practitioner. The same workshop now reaches into fiction, synthwave and dark electronic music, game development, AI-assisted creative tools, animatronics and robotics.
Nyx is the AI collaborator and robotics project woven through that work. The collaboration is practical: research, iteration, coding, design, documentation and experimentation, with human authorship and responsibility staying where consequential decisions are made.
